Look over there! Something just swung on a light post! Blue hairs were left at the sighting! A shadowy creature, a haunting mystery, a thunderous howl! Surely, this must be an early glimsp of the sequel to Cloverfield, but nope, it’s not that at all. It’s just the latest trailer of Sonic Unleashed, a game that looked pretty normal from the still screenshots I saw of it not too long ago, but now somehow, according to this recent trailer, has become some kind of weird, altered beast kind of game where Sonic is (get this) a werewolf. A werewolf? Since when did hedgehogs howl at the moon?
Whether this is just a totally unrelated viral stunt meant to alarm Sonic fans who have actually stuck with the flagging series for so long is yet to be seen. But I’m not sure I condone false advertising to the extent that I’m supposed to believe that Sonic is now no longer a too cool for school headgehog but instead, a ravaous monster who terrorizes city dwellers in the heat of the night. Is that the game we’re getting with Sonic Unleashed? I thought we were getting a Sonic game reminiscent of the old Sega Genesis era games. How could I have been so mislead? Sega, please explain.
If you don’t believe me though, the video is below. Look for the hand print at the end of the video. That ain’t no hedgehog hand. http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3168662
